RehearseAI is a web app for practicing job interviews out loud. You paste the job posting and your résumé, an AI interviewer avatar (a video interviewer you see and hear, not a voice-only bot) asks the questions that role would ask and follows up on what you say, and afterward you get specific feedback on your answers and your delivery. Every account gets 10 free practice minutes a month, with no credit card.
I built it, so read this as the founder explaining what the product does and who it is for, not as an independent review. I spent twenty years on the hiring side of the table, and the candidates I watched lose interviews were rarely unqualified. They had simply never said their answers out loud before the day it mattered.
How it works
There are three screens, and that is the whole product.
- Setup. Paste the job description and your résumé, and pick the round you are preparing for: a recruiter screen, a hiring-manager interview, a peer or panel interview, or a final round. The free session is 10 minutes; Premium lets you pick 5, 15, 30 or 45.
- Interview. An AI interviewer avatar greets you and asks the questions that posting would produce. You answer by speaking, the way you will in the real thing. When an answer has no result at the end, it asks about it, the way a real hiring manager does. At the end it turns the floor over to you, so you also practice asking your own questions.
- Feedback. A report on what you said and how you said it.
It runs in the browser on a computer or a phone. There is nothing to install.
The interviewer feels like a real video interview
Most interviews now start on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, so the practice should look like one. The RehearseAI interviewer is an avatar on screen with a face and a voice. There are four interviewers with different faces, voices and styles, and you do not choose who greets you, because in a real interview you do not either.
The part that matters most is the follow-up. A question list is easy to rehearse. What decides real interviews is the second question: "and what happened next?", "what was your part in that?", "what would you do differently?". The RehearseAI interviewer listens to your answer and asks that question.
What the feedback covers

- A note on every answer: what worked, and the one thing to improve.
- A readiness score from 0 to 100, with a short summary, so you can see progress from one session to the next.
- Delivery feedback when your camera is on: your speaking pace, your filler words and your tone.
- A recording to rewatch for 30 days, so you can see yourself the way the interviewer did.
You can also choose how much coaching you get while you practice: Realistic (the interviewer stays in character, like a real interview), Brief (one quick tip after each answer) or Detailed (a strength and an improvement after each answer).
Practice with a real person, too
Sometimes you want a human in the chair. On Premium you can invite a friend, a mentor or a career coach with a link. They join a video call inside the app as your interviewer, and they do not need an account.
Who it is for
- People who get nervous. Saying an answer out loud to a face that reacts is the fastest way to make the real interview feel familiar.
- People getting interviews but not offers. The per-answer notes and the follow-ups show where the answers lose the room.
- Students, career changers and people returning to work, who need reps more than theory.
It is built for behavioral, role-fit and hiring-manager rounds. It is not a coding platform: there is no code editor, so for a live coding test, pair it with a coding-practice site.
What it costs
- Free: 10 practice minutes every month, no credit card, refilled on the same day each month as the day you signed up. The free report shows part of the feedback.
- Premium: $49.95 a month, or $89.95 every 3 months ($29.98 a month), with 200 practice minutes a month, the full report and unlimited real-person invites. The first charge has a 7-day money-back guarantee.
Free tools you can use without an account
- The free interview question generator: paste a job posting and see the questions it is likely to produce.
- The filler word counter: paste an answer or a transcript and see your filler words and your pace.
- The interview quiz: ten questions on the moments that decide interviews.
